We serve spun metal customers throughout North America and around the world. With a staff of over 20 and a wide variety of manual, power, semi-automatic, and automatic spun metal machines, as well as specialty equipment, such as our 3-D laser cutter, we can handle virtually any fabrication. We can make spun metal projects in a variety of sizes, from 2 inches to 96 inches. When heavy material; up to 3/8 inch thickness is to be formed, hydraulically-operated lathes are used. The material or blank is placed on a centering pin and is then clamped to the chuck with the follower and the forming process begins. As the material and chuck rotate, the roller pushes it against the chuck creating the desired spun metal shape.

We can produce a size range from 2 inches diameters to 96 inches and in thicknesses up to 3/8 inch. . In addition to hand metal spinning, semi-automatic, power, and automatic machines, we have laser-cutting, CNC punching and more. Formed in 1962 as Art Metal Spinning, the name was changed to AMS Industries to reflect a greater diversity of production. From the initial 4,000 square foot building, the company has grown to occupy approximately 37,000 square feet with over 20 trained and dedicated metal spinning employees.

An inlet cone is shaped so that the shock wave that forms on its apex is directed to the lip of the intake; this allows the engine to operate properly in supersonic flight. The main purpose of an inlet cone is to slow down the flow of air from supersonic flight speed to a subsonic speed, before it enters the engine. Our equipment includes heavy-duty lathes for heavy materials, manual lathes for lighter and low-volume parts, CNC automatic lathes for volume work, a 3-D laser-cutting machine, a coordinate measuring machine, as well as punch and hydraulic presses and inlet cone parts.
